Artificial food dyes are synthetic, human-made colorings derived from petroleum, used as a marketing strategy to add vibrant colors to food and beverages. These brightly colored chemicals, used in many foods and drinks aimed at children, have influenced consumer behavior significantly. Their ability to attract consumers to purchase more of their products paved the way for us to reach our current position. Tracing its origins to the mid-1800s, what was originally a byproduct turned into a product that changed the way we see everything.
